Hello and welcome to the Worcester State University course HC 234 NSL: Multiculturalism and Health. This is our class blog for Fall 2014. Welcome to our journey! We challenge you to use your own experiences, question stereotypes and biases, read with intention and critical consciousness. We will learn from each other, our readings, and our course activities. Please be open, be honest, and be willing to share. Your participation will make the semester meaningful and purposeful.
Let's start at the beginning.... Your first task is to read your syllabus cover to cover. All important information is included in that document. How to blog? How to submit assignments? How assignments are calculated? Course outline and deadlines? It's all in there!
You will have an activity and/or a reading assignment, plus an activity paper and/or blog participation for each date in your course outline. Some assignments, including your timeline activity, program assessment and final paper, have corresponding guidelines that are posted on Blackboard in the content folder. Please pay attention to the deadlines. Late papers (with the exception of the final paper) will be accepted for partial credit for up to one week, but not past the last day of the class (12/9/14).
This course officially begins Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 and your first assignments are due next Wednesday, September 10th. Enjoy!
